Two people were arrested following a short chase outside of Benson early Monday.
A sheriff’s deputy was on patrol near on Highway 210 near I-40 when he spotted a person get into the passenger side of vehicle who had an outstanding warrant. The deputy followed the vehicle and attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Old Roberts Road at N. Pleasant Coates Road but the vehicle failed to pull over.
The driver, later identified as Timothy Scott Holleman, 27, of Beaver Creek Drive, Benson, eventually stopped on Beaver Creek Drive, but the passenger fled inside a mobile home.
Holleman was immediately taken into custody. The passenger, Dustin Allen Christian, 29, of Church Street, Fuquay Varina, was later found inside the mobile home and detained.
Holleman was charged with fleeing to elude arrest and resisting a public officer and given a $2,500 bond. Christian was charged with two counts of felony probation violation and one count of resisting a public officer. He was held under a $45,000 bond.
