The driver of a passenger car was seriously injured after colliding with a large tree.
The single vehicle accident was reported about 6:30am Monday in the 11000 block of Highway 39 North. A northbound car drifted off the roadway and collided with a tree.
The driver was pinned in the wreckage. The Corinth Holders Fire Department extricated the driver before the victim was transported by Johnston County EMS to Wake Med.
Highway 39 was briefly shut down.
