One person was seriously injured in a single car accident Friday afternoon near Kenly.
The accident happened in the 3900 block of Princeton Kenly Rd. According to the NC Highway Patrol, a 50 year-old woman was operating a station wagon when it ran off the roadway. The driver overcorrected, causing the vehicle to travel off the roadway a second time and struck a group of trees head-on.
The impact was so severe the victims was trapped inside the car. Kenly firefighters used the Jaws of Life to cut the wreckage away from so EMS workers could reach the driver. The victim was rushed to Wake Medical Center.
A section of Princeton Kenly Road was shutdown Friday afternoon until the accident was cleared. The name of the victim was not released, including whether any charges would be filed. Photos by JoCoFire.com
