The driver of a rental car was injured in a single vehicle accident on Interstate 95 in Johnston County Thursday night.
The vehicle was traveling northbound, just north of the US 701 Exit in Four Oaks, when the driver apparently lost control on a bridge, struck the left guardrail, right guardrail, then the left guardrail a second time.
The driver was conscious but was suffering from a head injury. He was transported to Wake Medical Center for treatment of what appeared to be a serious but non-life threatening injury.
One northbound lane of the intersection was closed until the accident could be cleared.
