WILSON’S MILLS – An 85 year old man driving a pickup truck became disoriented while traveling from Fayetteville to Kinston on Sunday evening. He ended up on the new Wilson’s Mills Road extension and collided with construction equipment parked at the end of the dead end road.
The man was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries after he slammed into a mini-excavator and two equipment trailers near the end to the road.
There were three orange reflector signs warning drivers of the end of the pavement.
Wilson’s Mills Fire and Johnston County EMS responded. The NC State Highway Patrol investigated the accident.
Sure is too nice of a truck to do something like that to it
It’s time to impose driving tests after age 70. If you’re so “confused” that you can’t see excavators and trailers, maybe you shouldn’t be driving. I wonder if he was under the influene of anything? #MakeDrivingSafeAgain
At his age he should’ve been home that time of night. Wonder what he was up to?😂
I wonder what his driving record has been since he was 70. I doubt he was as dangerous as the 18 year old running 100 to 150 mph.
