Emergency workers extricated the driver of a car that was pinned in her overturned vehicle Wednesday morning.
Around 10:45am, a car was traveling in the 900 block of Mallard Road east of Smithfield when the vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway, drove down a long ditch before striking several rocks. The car went airborne before overturning into a driveway culvert.
According to the NC Highway Patrol, the female driver stated she didn’t remember what happened.
The driver was briefly pinned in the car but was removed by Smithfield Fire and Johnston County EMS workers before being transported to Johnston Health. Officials said the drivers injuries were non-life threatening. Photos by John Payne
