The drivers of two vehicles involved in a near head-on collision Sunday night were both injured.
The collision occurred around 10:00pm at the intersection of Barber Mill Road and Government Road outside of Clayton. A red car and blue pickup collided in the intersection.
Both drivers were taken to Wake Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries.
A neighbor said he was asleep when he was awoken by the sound of the crash. He said the intersection is known for serious accidents.
The Highway Patrol is investigating the accident. As of Tuesday, details were not available. Photos by John Payne
