Drugs Found During Traffic Stop For Speeding

Raekwon-Demonta-Session-FISmithfield Police seized more than an ounces of suspected marijuana from an SUV stopped for speeding.  An officer was on patrol around 11:00 AM Saturday and conducted a traffic stop for a speeding violation in the 900 block of North Brightleaf Boulevard.

The officer said he detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the SUV during the traffic stop, according to Police Captain R.K. Powell. During a search of the vehicle, 35.2 grams of marijuana were located. Also seized were two cell phones and two plastic bags.

Raekwon Demonta Session, 19, of Country Lane, Smithfield was charged with felony possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana.  Bail was set at $10,000.
