Dump Truck And SUV Collide

FOUR OAKS – A dump truck and SUV collided Wednesday afternoon on US Highway 701 South at Strickland’s Crossroads Road. The head-on collision was reported at 2:50pm.

Two people were transported to Johnston Medical Center in Smithfield for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Highway 701 was closed until 3:55pm when both lanes reopened.

The Strickland’s Crossroads Fire Department, Johnston County EMS, and State Highway Patrol responded. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
