Remington “Remy” George Schon from Boy Scout Troop 210 of McGee’s Crossroads will be awarded the rank of Eagle Scout today (Saturday) at Providence Presbyterian Church on Hwy 210 in Angier.
Last Sunday, Remy received the Eagle Scout Good Citizenship Award from Eagle Scout Coordinator Lewis W. Rice III on behalf of the Johnston County Marine Corps League Carry-On Detachment 1236. The award presentation was held at Saint Ann’s Catholic Church on US 70.
For his Eagle Scout project, Remy built a 12 foot by 12 foot picnic shelter at Howell Woods Environmental Learning Center near Four Oaks.
He is following in the family tradition and footsteps of his brother and father who are both Eagle Scouts. Remy is a rising junior at West Johnston High.
He is the son of Arnie and Patricia Schon of Willow Springs.
