Eagle Scout Project Dedicated To Honor All Veterans

An Eagle Scout Ceremony was held for Eagle Scout Eric William Heiner from Boy Scout Troop 422 of Selma on August 25th at the Archer Lodge Community Center.

Eric’s father and grandfather have had a big influence on his life.  His grandfather retired from the Air Force and his father was a Gunnery Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps.   Eric wanted to do an Eagle Scout project to honor hid dad, grandfather, uncles, and many others who has served our Country.

Eric went to multiple Archer Lodge Town Council meetings to present his idea before getting the final approval to start on a special sign at the Archer Lodge Veterans Memorial. The 84 man hour project included laying stonework in a specific patterns to adhering the lettering “Archer Lodge Veterans Memorial” to both sides of the sign and installing lighting.

The Archer Lodge Veterans Memorial is slated for completion on Veterans Day 2019.

Eric is a Junior Assistant Scoutmaster of Troop 422 of Selma. He is a junior at Corinth Holders High School and plans to pursue an engineering degree in college and become a pilot in the United States Air Force. Eric is the son of Keith and Marcia Heiner of Wendell.
