Eagle Scout Jesse Dartagnan Stephenson from Boy Scout Troop #421 of Archer Lodge was presented the “Eagle Scout Good Citizenship Award” on Sunday. The presentation was made by Eagle Scout Coordinator Lewis W. Rice III of the Johnston County Marine Corps League Carry-On Detachment #1236.

Jesse’s Eagle Scout project was to erect a flagpole in the front of Amelia Christian Church in Clayton where he attends and place electrical lighting so that the US flag can be seen even in the darkest hours of night. He also constructed a memorial garden at the flagpole where church members can purchase everlasting bricks inscribed in memory of loved ones.

Jesse, a senior at Southside Christian School, is the son of Mike and Sonya Stephenson of Clayton.
