Eagle Scout William Morgan Recognized

On Saturday, December 22, 2018 and Eagle Scout Court of Honor was held at Hocutt Baptist Church for Eagle Scout William Taylor Morgan from Boy Scout Troop 726 of Clayton.

Will joined Cub Scouts in 2009 and crossed over into Boy Scouts in 2014. Since then, he has become a member of the Order of the Arrow (the Honor Society of the Boy Scouts of America), earned his God & Country Award, attended NYLT – National Youth Leadership Training, and has held the position of Senior Patrol Leader. He currently holds the position of Quartermaster in his Troop.

Will has gone above and beyond the required 21 merit badges to earn the rank of Eagle Scout by completing a total of 32 merit badges. During his Eagle Scout ceremony, Will was also awarded the Bronze and Gold Eagle Palms.

Will is currently a sophomore at Clayton High School and upon graduation plans to attend NC State University to pursue a degree in Computer Science and Technology. He is the son of Stan and Sherry Morgan of Clayton.

During the ceremony, Will was presented with the Eagle Scout Good Citizenship Award from Eagle Scout Coordinator Lewis W. Rice III of the Johnston County Marine Corps League Carry-On Detachment 1236 (left) and the Marine Corps League Department of North Carolina Junior Vice Commandant Keith Shearin (right).
