COATS – Fire departments from Harnett and Johnston counties responded to a large fire early Tuesday morning. The blaze was reported around 12:23am in the 8000 block of NC Highway 27 East.
The first fire unit to arrive on the scene reported a building fully involved in flames. Additional units were immediately dispatched to respond.
The Harnett County Sheriff’s Office closed NC Highway 27 between Red Hill Church Road and Bailey Road for several hours due to the large number of emergency vehicles at the scene.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
