Elderly Driver Hurt After Car Strikes Building

An 88 year-old driver was taken to Wake Medical Center after they unintentionally struck the side of a building near the Harris Teeter at Flower’s Plantation.

Emergency crews responded to the accident Monday afternoon. The building sustained minimal damage.


The occupants in the building were shaken but not hurt. One worker was seated next to the window at the time of the crash.

The driver of the car was transported by ambulance to be evaluated. There was no immediate cause of the crash.


Johnston County EMS, the Thanksgiving Fire Department, NC Highway Patrol and a Johnston County building inspector were dispatched to the scene.
