The Elevation Fire Department has received an improved fire rating. NC Insurance Commissioner and State Fire Marshal Wayne Goodwin announced the Elevation Fire Department recently completed its routine inspection and received a rating of 4/9E.
Fire Chief Timmy Stanley said the new rating will go into effect on April 1st, 2016.
“I’d like to congratulate Chief Stanley for his department’s performance and for the hard work of all the department members,” Commissioners Goodwin said. “The citizens in the Elevation Fire District should rest easy knowing they have a fine group of firefighters protecting them and their property in case of an emergency.”
The rating could also lower homeowners insurance premiums in the district. State law requires the Office of the State Fire Marshal to inspect departments servings districts of 100,000 people or less, which makes up all but 6 of the state’s fire districts.
