The Carolina Panthers are headed to the Super Bowl for just the second time in franchise history.
Cam Newton led the Panthers to a decisive 49-15 rout of the Arizona Cardinals to claim the NFC championship Sunday night.
Second District Congresswoman Renee Ellmers (R-NC) of Dunn had a friendly wager on the game with Congresswoman Kyrsten Sinema and Congressman Dave Schwiekert of Arizona over who would win the Carolina-Arizona game.
Ellmers bet a box of sweet goodies from Sherry’s Bakery in Dunn and Sinema and Schwiekert bet a dozen Arizona tamales. Ellmers of course won the bet.
There is no word if Ellmers will be wagering any North Carolina products in the Feb. 7th Super Bowl against the Denver Broncos.
