Fallen Trooper Escorted Home To Robeson County

ROBESON COUNTY – A solemn procession Monday afternoon honored the life and service of Master Trooper Stien Davis, Jr., who died in a line-of-duty traffic accident.
According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, Master Trooper Davis was involved in a single-vehicle collision shortly after midnight Sunday while on duty. Initial reports indicate he was traveling in his patrol vehicle on NC 130 in Robeson County when he lost control, left the roadway, and overturned in a swampy roadside area. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Monday afternoon, troopers escorted Davis’ body from the North Carolina Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Raleigh back home to Robeson County. Nearly two dozen Highway Patrol vehicles, along with sheriff’s deputies, formed the motorcade as it traveled along Interstate 40 and Interstate 95, passing through Wake, Johnston, Harnett, Cumberland, and Robeson counties.
Along the route, law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMS personnel, and other first responders lined overpasses, standing at attention as the procession passed them in a visible show of respect, solidarity, and remembrance.

Master Trooper Davis was assigned to Troop B, District 7, serving Robeson County. A graduate of the 141st Basic Patrol School, he served the North Carolina State Highway Patrol for more than ten years. Colleagues remembered him as a dedicated public servant who carried out his duties with professionalism and a deep commitment to his community.

Additional details regarding funeral arrangements and a celebration of life ceremony are expected to be announced in the coming days.
