A robbery and carjacking in a Cleveland subdivision Tuesday was not a random act. The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a relative of the victim wanted for the 7:20am incident.
It happened in the Leachburg Place subdivision off Old Drug Store Road. A 34 year-old woman said she was in her SUV with a family member when the relative pulled out a knife and began stabbing the dash and car vents then threatened to cut her. During the altercation the suspect told the woman she would never see her children again.
The suspect stole the woman’s SUV before fleeing.
Sheriff’s detectives said the incident was not random. Warrants have been obtained against the suspect. Once located he will be charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and auto theft.
The victim in the case was not harmed.
