A family of five lost nearly all their belongings after their mobile home was destroyed by flames this afternoon (Monday). The fire was reported in the 2600 block of Highway 96 South of Four Oaks.
The family was at home when the fire started. They all made it out uninjured. Crews from the Four Oaks, Blackman’s Crossroads and Strickland’s Crossroads Fire Departments responded and had the blaze under control within minutes.
The family had no insurance. They are being assisted by the Red Cross.
Four Oaks Fire Chief Barry Stanley said the fire was accidental and may have been related to the heating unit.
