The Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of a single vehicle fatal accident Thursday afternoon. The accident happened around 5:00pm in the northbound lanes of Interstate 95 at the 92 mile marker, just south of the Brogden Road Exit.
Initial reports indicate a passenger car left the roadway and collided with a tree on the right shoulder of the interstate killing one person inside the vehicle.
The name of the person who was killed was not immediately released.
The accident closed one northbound lane of I-95 while it was being investigated by authorities. Traffic backups were reported for several miles.
