A distraught father is speaking out about the death of his son killed in a hit and run accident last weekend.
Phillip Graham of Rockingham, NC can’t image who would strike and kill his son then fail to stop. Around 9:30pm Saturday, Brian Keith Graham was walking to a friend’s home on Ira B. Tart Road near Jada Alan Lane near the Johnston-Sampson County line when he was struck and killed. A witness told troopers a silver or gray Ford Mustang with a black pin stripe traveling on Ira B. Tart Road struck Brian but never stopped. The car should have extensive front end damage.
Phillip said his son had just gotten a job about a month ago at PJ’s Truck Bodies in Dunn. “It was the best job he ever had. He was getting his life straightened out and saving money for a place.”
Brian had been staying for the last few weeks in a camper at a friend’s house near the accident scene until he saved up money to rent a home near his job.
He was walking to another friend’s home when he was struck from behind and killed. The Highway Patrol said Brian was wearing dark clothing and walking in the roadway when he was struck on the dimly-lit two-lane rural roadway.
Brian leaves behind his 5 year-old son, Titus. Family members said Brian cherished his son.
Brian’s family has put together money to offer a $5,000 cash reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the driver who struck and killed the 39 year-old father. If you have any information on the hit and run driver or Ford Mustang that struck Brian you are asked to contact the Sampson County Highway Patrol District Office at 910-592-3141.
