FBI Locates Suspect In Kenly Child Abduction Case

Juan-Carlos-Gutierrez-FIA Johnston County man wanted for the alleged 2015 abduction of a young girl was arrested early Tuesday after being located by the FBI.

FBI agents contacted the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office after locating the suspect this morning at a home on Futrell Way near Selma. Deputies took 51 year-old Juan Carlos Gutierrez of River Oaks Drive, Selma into custody without further incident.

Gutierrez is accused of abducting a 13 year-old girl from a location on Beulahtown Road near Kenly on August 21, 2015. She was reportedly driven to a Selma-area hotel. The child was later found unharmed.

Gutierrez was charged with felony abduction of a child and giving a malt beverage to an underage person. No additional details about the 2015 incident were released because the case involved a juvenile.

He was confined in the Johnston County Jail under a $100,500 bond.
