The filing period for 2015 municipal elections in Johnston County will open at Noon on Monday, July 6th.
The seats for Mayor are up for re-election in Archer Lodge, Benson, Clayton, Kenly, Micro, Pine Level, Princeton, Selma, and Smithfield.
Four council seats are up for election in Pine Level, three seats in Archer Lodge, Benson, Four Oaks, Kenly, Micro, and Smithfield. Two council seats are up for election in Clayton, Princeton, Selma and Wilson’s Mills.
Two commissioner seats are also up for election on the Whitley Heights Sanitary District.
The cost to file for most town council seats is $5 and $10 for most mayor’s seats. In Smithfield, the cost to file for Mayor or Town Council is $20 each. In Selma, it costs $18 to file for town council and $24 for mayor.
The filing period for the seats remains open until Noon on Friday, July 17th. Candidates must filed at the Johnston County Board of Elections Office on South Second Street in Smithfield.
