Fire Blamed On Lightning Strike

Fire 7-14-15Fire investigators blame a lightning strike for starting a fire that damaged an outside building Monday morning near Clayton.

Around 8:30am, lightning struck the building located at 343 Forest Oaks Drive.  The Archer Lodge and Clayton Fire Departments responded and extinguished the fire.

Assistant Johnston County Fire Marshal Banks Wallace ruled the fire as accidental due to lightning. 

No injuries were reported.
