Fire Burns Home Where Meth Lab Was Found

A weekend fire that destroyed a Pine Level home is being treated as suspicious.

Around 11:00am Sunday, firefighters from four different departments responded to a mobile home fire in the 100 block of Mr. B Street. The first crew on the scene found the home fully engulfed in flames.

Firefighters rescued one dog which was turned over to animal control. There were no injuries.

Authorities were still working Monday to determine if anyone was living in the home.  There was no electricity connected to the property.

The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the fire occurred at the same address where a meth lab was seized in March.

Officials said the blaze appeared to have originated in the living room area.

The Micro, Selma, Smithfield and Pine Level Fire Departments responded to the scene along with Johnston County EMS, Selma EMS, the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office, Johnston County Fire Marshal, and Pine Level Police Department.  Photos by JoCoFire.com
