Fire Burns Mobile Home, Car

A family of three was left homeless after a fire destroyed their mobile home, a car, burned a yard and downed power lines.

It happened around 4:30 pm Saturday at the T.R. Lee Mobile Home Park at 1004 West Main Street in Clayton.

The Clayton Fire Department was assisted by the Archer Lodge and Cleveland Fire Departments with containing the fire. Johnston County EMS stood by at the scene as a precaution.

Clayton Police closed Main Street between Stallings and Moore Streets due to the large number of emergency vehicles that responded.

The Clayton Fire Marshal and Clayton Police are investigating the cause.
