CLEVELAND – A late-night fire destroyed a singlewide construction office unit at the ST Wooten Asphalt Plant in the 12000 block of Cleveland Road. The fire was reported at 11:59pm Thursday.
The Cleveland Fire Department arrived to find flames coming from the office unit. The Clayton and 50-210 Fire Departments responded to assist.
Johnston County Fire Marshal Ryan Parker said ST Wooten plant operators had left just a few hours before the fire was reported. The plant was closed at the time. The fire started inside the office area of the unit. The cause could not be determined.
The office unit was a total loss. No injuries were reported.
