Fire Damages Kenly Home

A fire caused heavy damage Wednesday morning to a home in downtown Kenly.

Flames broke out around 6:30am at a residence at 204 N. Gardner Avenue.  Officials believe the blaze started in the kitchen area. The fire was brought under control within an hour.

Kenly firefighters said the home sustained heavy damage.

The occupant was in the hospital when the fire broke out.  No injuries were reported.
