ARCHER LODGE – Shortly past noon on Sunday, fire broke out at a home on Coharie Drive, just off of Covered Bridge Road, in Archer Lodge.
North Side Fire personnel were quickly on the scene. They were joined by mutual aid fire departments from Johnston and Wake Counties.

Due to the lack of nearby fire hydrants, a Tanker Task Force water shuttle was established.
The fire destroyed an RV parked next to the home. There was heavy fire, smoke, and water damage throughout the home.

The American Red Cross responded to assist five people who were displaced.
The Johnston County Fire Marshal’s Office said the fire started in the garage area but due to the extensive damage could not determine the actual source.
Lack of fire hydrants. With all of the uncontrolled growth, I would think our brainiac commissioners would require fire hydrants. Riverwood golf doesn’t have any either and there have been 3 house fires in the last 5 years….its total chaos. Incompetence knows no bounds.
