Authorities have not been able to determine the exact cause of a fire that damaged a Clayton-area townhome. Monday afternoon, the Archer Lodge Fire Department responded to a fire on Radcliff Court.
The blaze started in the area of the back deck and quickly spread. Archer Lodge fire crews were assisted by the Thanksgiving, Clayton and Wilson’s Mills Fire Departments. The blaze was contained in approximately 30 minutes.
Johnston County Fire Marshal Adam Stanley said the exact cause could not be determined.
The home was severely damaged but no injuries were reported. The Red Cross is assisting two people displaced by the blaze.
