A Benson-area building was destroyed by fire on Thursday.
It happened at 990 Five Points Road next to McLamb’s Rest Home.
Officials said some leaves were being burned near the building. The fire spread to the structure causing it to burn to the ground. Three cars in the building and a John Deere were also damaged.
The owner said some peacocks and birds being kept in the building perished in the fire.
The blaze was ruled accidental. No injuries were reported.
Damage was estimated at approximately $40,000.
