A large outbuilding was destroyed by flames Friday afternoon near Smithfield.
The fire was reported around 2:00 PM in the 800 block of Cleveland Road.
The building was a total loss. The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
The Wilson’s Mills, Smithfield and Four Oaks Fire Departments, NC Forestry Service, and Johnston County EMS all responded to the scene.
