BENSON – A detached garage and several vehicles were destroyed by flames on Friday. The 5:43pm fire was reported at 309 W. Hale Street in Benson.
The Benson Fire Department was assisted by crews from the Elevation and Four Oaks Fire Departments. The building, a car, two trucks, lawnmower and golf cart were destroyed.

No injuries were reported.
Johnston County Deputy Fire Marshal Ryan Parker said the cause of the fire has not been determined.
