Fire Destroys Home

A home was heavily damaged by fire Thursday night.  Firefighters from the Eastern Wake, Knightdale and Wendell Fire Departments responded to a call around 6:30pm of a house on fire on South Smithfield Road near Dunn Road, outside Knightdale.

Firemen arrived to find flames coming from the roof. Two people lived at the home but they had left to run an errand when the fire broke out. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Wake County Fire Marshal’s Office.   Photos by JoCoFire.com
