Authorities say a Christmas Day fire completely destroyed a hunting cabin in a remote location off Guin Road outside of Four Oaks. The cabin burned to the ground without anyone noticing. No fire department responded because the fire was completely out when it was discovered.
The cabin was owned by Christopher Allen Jackson of Four Oaks.
Johnston County Fire Marshal Adam Stanley said the fire was accidental and the result of an electrical failure in the cabin’s generator and battery supply.
No injuries were reported. A damage estimate was not immediately available.
