A weekend fire completely destroyed a Johnston County home. It happened around 7:00pm Sunday on Denton Lane off Lake Wendell Road in the Corinth Holders community.
Corinth Holders, Archer Lodge and Thanksgiving Fire Departments responded to the fire at the end of Denton Lane. Because there were no nearby fire hydrants, other fire departments were dispatched to shuttle water to the scene.
Several walls to the home collapsed creating additional danger to firefighters. Fortunately there were no injuries. The home was not occupied at the time the fire broke out.
Johnston County Emergency Services Fire Marshal Adam Stanley said the Fire Marshal Division is currently investigating the cause. Stanley said Thursday the cause of the fire still has not been determined.
