WILSON’S MILLS – Heavy black smoke filled the area Saturday afternoon following a backyard fire that destroyed two outbuildings and an unknown number of vehicles.
Around 3 o’clock, the Wilson’s Mills, Selma, and Smithfield Fire Depratments were called to an address on Marlin Lane. The flames were quickly knocked down and the nearby home was spared any damage although trees around the area were burned.
The residents and their pets were evacuated safely. Several Johnston County EMS units provided rehab and medical support.
The Johnston County Fire Marshall’s Office responded and is investigating the cause. No injuries were reported.
