No injuries were reported after a pickup truck caught fire and burned Sunday afternoon. The Four Oaks Fire Department responded to a 911 call at 4:49pm reporting the fire at an RV park on US 701 near Interstate 95.
Johnston County Fire Marshal Adam Stanley said the fire started in the engine compartment of a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 then quickly spread to the passenger compartment. Investigators determined a gasoline leak in the engine compartment ignited the fire.
Officials could not determine what caused the fuel to begin leaking from the unoccupied truck.
