A fire that destroyed a doublewide mobile home has left a family of six and four pets displaced.
It happened at 8:25am Monday at 259 Herring Road outside of Princeton. The Princeton, Brogden and Pine Level Fire Departments were initially dispatched to a 911 call reporting the fire.
Firefighters found the doublewide engulfed in flames and requested additional units from the Selma and Smithfield Fire Departments. Crews from all the five departments worked together to bring the fire under control.
The Johnston County Emergency Services Fire Marshal Division and Johnston County Sheriff’s Office were called to investigate the cause. So far, the cause has not been determined.
Fire Marshal Adam Stanley said no injuries were reported.
The Red Cross responded and is assisting the displaced family.
