A fire heavily-damaged a two story home this afternoon (Sunday) in the Cleveland community. The home, on Zachary Way in the South Hills subdivision off Cornwallis Road, sustained significant damage.
Over a dozen fire departments from Johnston and Wake counties responded. Fire tankers had to shuttle water to the scene because there were no fire hydrants in the immediate area.
No one was at the home when the fire and an explosion was reported by a neighbor.
One Cleveland firefighter sustained minor injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment.
