FOUR OAKS – A Four Oaks area home sustained significant fire damage.
Shortly before 11:00am Friday, fire units from Four Oaks, Elevation, 50-210, and Wilson’s Mills responded to the blaze in the 200 block of King Mill Road.

Four Oaks fire crews arrived on the scene quickly. The home was approximately 400 feet behind Fire Station #2 on Lassiter Road.
Firefighters battled the stubborn fire before bringing it under control.

Johnston County Fire Marshal Division Chief Travis Johnson said the fire originated at an outlet on the exterior of the home and the most probable cause was an electrical malfunction caused by pressure washing that occurred prior to the fire.
The homeowner was not home at the time of the fire. A dog inside the residence was rescued by the Four Oaks Fire Department.
Chief Johnson said the home was equipped with a monitored fire alarm system. The fire was discovered early due to the monitored fire alarm and the alarm company promptly notified Johnston County 911.
