Fire Station Damaged By School Bus

An accident involving a school bus Thursday afternoon damaged a Johnston County fire station.

Around 4:10pm, Bus 202 from McGee’s Middle School was attempting to turn around in the parking lot of 50-210 Fire Station # 2 on Jackson-King Road. The bus struck a flag pole which then fell onto the building.

Seventeen students from McGee’s Middle were on the bus but they were not injured. There was no damage reported to the bus. The flag pole sustained about $300 in damage and the fire station $600 in damage.

No charges were filed.
