SELMA – The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office and federal ATF agents are jointly investigating an early morning burglary at Springhill Outfitters at 773 Seafood House Road. The break-in was discovered around 1:51am today (Friday) following an alarm activation.
Unknown persons forced their way into the business and stole an undisclosed number of firearms. The suspects fled before authorities arrived.
“Its disheartening. We’ve have some attempted break-ins in the past but this is the first time we’ve had any firearms stolen,” said Trent Lassiter, owner and CEO of Springhill Outfitters.
“They are stealing not only from me but the employees as well. Obviously I’m upset. The employees are just as upset as I am. The employees work hard to provide for their families and they’re stealing from all of us. It’s upsetting, especially at this time of the year.”
Due to the ongoing investigation no additional details are being released at this time.
Anyone who has any information about the Friday morning break-in at Springhill Outfitters is urged to contact the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office at 919-989-5020. Callers may remain anonymous.
Maybe the weapons won’t be used to shoot/kill someone and he bails them out again….
