A body was found inside a mobile home after a fire was extinguished. Tuesday afternoon, a neighbor called 911 reporting an older mobile home was on fire in the 1500 block of Feed Mill Road outside of Selma, near the Highway 39 / Highway 42 intersection.
Once fire crews put out the stubborn blaze they located a body inside the burned mobile home.
The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office said the body has been sent to the NC Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy and identification. Investigators said the fire does not appear to be suspicious but still remains under investigation. The Johnston County Fire Marshal’s Office is also assisting the with investigation including the cause of the fire.
