Fire crews from three counties are on the scene of a large fire in Johnston County.
The Johnston County 911 Center said they began receiving multiple calls starting at 6:21pm Saturday reporting a working fire on County Line Road along the Johnston-Harnett County line.
Neighbors said the building once housed the Circle T Arena but most recently had been rented out for private parties and gatherings. Fire officials were not available to confirm that information, however a 911 Center supervisor said a birthday party was underway at the building when the fire started.
Initial reports indicate everyone at the quinceanera made it out unharmed.
A total of 9 fire departments from Johnston, Harnett and Sampson counties responded. Johnston County EMS and 50-210 EMS were also dispatched.
Due to the large number of emergency vehicles, the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office and NC Highway Patrol were detouring traffic around the area.
The Johnston County Fire Marshal’s Office has responded to investigate the cause. There was no immediate word on what may have sparked the massive blaze.
