Firefighters are being credited with saving a rural Johnston County home from being destroyed by fire Saturday afternoon.  The blaze broke out in the 100 block of Davis Road.

Crews from the Corinth Holders Fire Department were the first on the scene. They found a large outbuilding behind the home fully engulfed in flames and the fire quickly spreading to the adjacent residence.  Firemen focused their efforts on saving the home, which they did. The home only sustained damage to the exterior siding and windows which shattered from the intense heat.

Assistance from the Antioch and Zebulon fire departments quickly arrived.

The outbuilding was a total loss along with multiple pieces of equipment, appliances and ATV’s.
