A four alarm fire Monday afternoon near Selma brought a quick response from firefighters.
Around 3:00pm, the fire was reported at 53 Lynn Lane off Live Oak Church Road north of Selma.
Crews from the Selma, Smithfield, Thanksgiving and Wilson’s Mills Fire Departments arrived on the scene to find a detached 24 foot by 24 foot garage fully engulfed in flames and endangering the house. Firemen quickly prevented the fire from spreading to the residence, however the home did sustain heat related damage.
No injuries were reported.
Johnston County Fire Marshal Adam Stanley said the cause of the fire could not be determined but foul play was not involved. The fire was officially ruled undetermined.
