Some Johnston County residents saw their first snowfall of 2016 on Monday.
Temperatures were well above freezing and there was no chance schools would be dismissed early.
Large snowflakes started to fall in Clayton Monday afternoon then slowly spread eastward across Wilson’s Mills, Selma and Smithfield before tapering off. There was no accumulation.
