A 29 year-old man says he was the victim of an armed robbery while fishing at a rural pond.
Last Friday the victim said he drove from his home in Dunn to a pond on Futrell Road outside of Selma to fish.
The victim claimed two men approached him at the pond and asked for a ride. The victim said he was unable to give them a ride, at which time one of the suspects allegedly pulled out a handgun and searched him and his vehicle taking his cell phone, vehicle keys, and a small amount of cash.
After the two suspects left, the victim waited two hours to report the robbery.
The victim was not injured. The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
